Statement on the Bristol City Council Barton House Update – 18 December 2023
Following yesterday’s statement from Bristol City Council on Barton House, we are cautiously positive that residents will be able to return to their homes and community. Our thoughts though remain with residents who will have to remain in temporary accommodation over the Christmas period, and for an uncertain amount of time next year.
We will continue to advocate for and work with residents and the council to be sure that everyone understands what work needs to be carried out and why, and is reassured that the building is safe to return to when work is finished.
When we return in January our services will remain open to Barton House residents who are not staying in the local area. Particularly our family centre services, Eatwell Café, Barton House Tea and Toast sessions, and our BOOST advice service. Wellspring Settlement offers a safe and quiet place away from the media at any time, and staff can offer signposting information for other local services.
