Kerry Anne Rowe
It is with great sadness that we have heard of the death of Wellspring Settlement’s former Vice-Chair Kerry Rowe.
Kerry served on the Board of Wellspring Healthy Living Centre prior to the merger with Barton Hill Settlement and was a calm and persistent supporter of the merger throughout the process of bringing the two organisations together. Following the formation of Wellspring Settlement she was appointed as one of the two Vice-Chairs of the Board of Trustees.
Kerry played a key role in helping to steer the new combined organisation through the Covid crisis which started within weeks of the merger, helping the Board focus on the challenges of the lockdown and supporting staff in their efforts to maintain services to the local community.
A longstanding and dedicated community worker in her professional life it was hardly surprising that Kerry was committed to supporting her local community and that people were always her focus. She saw a key element of her role on the Board being to support staff in their work, and also her fellow Board members so they could give their best to the organisation.
It was hoped that Kerry would step up to Chair the Board in due course but sadly her illness intervened and she had to step down in order to focus on her paid work. She will be greatly missed.
